What does a flower stock photos licence actually cover?

Every purchase here buys a licence, not the copyright. That distinction decides almost everything else on this page, so it is worth being precise about.

What you get

The licence is worldwide, perpetual and non-exclusive. You pay once for a single image and you may keep using it for as long as your project exists. There is no renewal, no annual fee, and no separate rate card for print runs, impressions or territories.

Concretely, you may use the file in:

• Packaging, labels, tags and point-of-sale material, including products you sell.
• Advertising in print, outdoor and online, at any circulation.
• Websites, apps, editorial layouts, books and covers.
• Client work, where the licence covers the finished piece you deliver.
• Interior prints and exhibition pieces produced for a commercial space.

You may crop, retouch, colour-grade, composite and mirror the image. Botanical photography is often bought precisely to be cut out and rebuilt into something else, and nothing in the licence stops you.

What it does not cover

Non-exclusive means what it says: another buyer may licence the same photograph. If a campaign depends on nobody else holding the picture, write to us before you buy and we will quote for a buy-out.

You may not resell or redistribute the file itself. Selling the JPEG, adding it to another library, bundling it into a template pack or shipping it inside a theme all treat the file as the product, and that is the one thing the licence forbids. A poster that uses the photograph is fine; a download page offering the photograph is not.

You may not use the image to train machine-learning models, and you may not extract it from a delivered layout for reuse in an unrelated project.

Sensitive uses

Botanical subjects carry fewer restrictions than people do, but two cases still need care. If a photograph shows a private garden or a recognisable estate, check the property release note on the image page before using it to advertise a competing service. And if you intend to make a health or medicinal claim about a plant, the picture does not substantiate it; the claim is yours to support.

Practical advice

Keep the receipt. The PayPal order id on your confirmation is the licence record, and it ties the payment to the specific asset id. If a client or a printer ever asks who cleared the rights, that reference is the answer.

If your use is not obviously on either list, ask. The answer is usually yes, and getting it in writing costs you an email.
